My wife and I recently spent two weeks at the Mount and having found Ambrosia on our first day, we did not bother to find somewhere else. We worked our way through the menu and the food was always first class. The staff were attentive, friendly and helpful. The cafe itself was immaculate. We discovered a number of locals were regular visitors to the cafe and this, in itself, confirmed that we had made a wise choice. We shall be back on our next holiday in February 2014.We returned in February 2014 for a second holiday as planned and found Ambrosia just as enjoyable as before. The menu was still very extensive and the quality of the food very high. There had been some changes among the serving staff but the new recruits were as well trained and keen to please as their predecessors. We are already looking forward to our next holiday at the Mount and more visits to Ambrosia.

My friend and I had a light lunch. We both didn’t rate the quality and taste of the food much. The Cafe itself is a smallish, run of the mill cafe, but the prices are high. When compared with Columbus, Zest and Grindz, they fail. The girl behind the counter could’ve been more welcoming. Wouldn’t go there again.

I visited with my husband and we had the ‘Big Breakfast’ and the ‘Hash Stack’ from the ‘All Day Breakfast’ menu. The meals were really great and well presented, and the Staff were extremely helpful. I would certainly visit again.

I went for breakfast with my boyfriend. We both got the Big Breakfasts – I was glad to see they had a vegetarian alternative which was cheaper. The food was well made, and the poached eggs didn’t have any gooey white bits (I hate that!). Perhaps my only improvement on the meal itself would be to have nicer bread – it was just a slice of normal white toast! The atmosphere was fine – typical cafe. The service was okay, I think the girl behind the counter must have been new because she couldn’t answer most of my questions. My boyfriend enjoyed his coffee too, and he was glad that they served it in bowl size!

Good food. The best corn fritters in New Zealand served by the cuttest waitress with a smile.
