Sadly poor service ruined my experience here, the food was good but that’s it. Cocktails took 20 mins to be served each time we ordered and main meals took over an hour to come out after we ordered.
Came here for dinner on the 4th Jan 2017. A great great restaurant – classy and formal. We were a large group of 11 and they put us indoor on a large round table. Took us a while to get our food but once it arrived it was outstanding! I had the lamb 3 ways and it was Devine. The wait staff were polite throughout the evening a big plus when it’s a large group of diners! Top effort I’ll be coming back here again!!
After a massive description from waitress on their award winning dishes we were very excited and expectations where high! 12hr lamb and the sword and seafood entree. Seafood was entertaining as they flame it on the table! And lamb came with kumera gnochi and tomato, however expectations were let down as lamb was not juicy or tasty or succulent as promised but more over down and tough, rest was all rather bland also. No seasoning on seafood also. The potato bacon and leek gratin (side) was very nice. Also wait was a little long
We purchased a Grab One voucher for this restaurant which was a set menu for our one year wedding anniversary. WOW!! From the moment we arrived the waitresses were excellent. The entrée which was a platter to share included prawns, mussels, pork belly sliders and a tempura mushroom and all of it was excellent. Very tasty. My husband and I both ordered the rib eye steak for the main which were cooked to perfection. For dessert we had a platter to share which included ice-cream, a macaroon, a chocolate chilli tart and something else which I wasn’t too keen on. The chocolate chilli tart was really nice but a little too heavy for me at the end of the meal. The other items, I didn’t really enjoy. Just not to my palette but I am sure others would enjoy. Overall we had a wonderful evening and I would definitely come back.
Got a grab one voucher for Mt Bistro so was looking forward to going there. We were warmly greeted & shown to our table,we found the staff we dealt with friendly & helpful. The menu for the grab one special was a set menu with a tappers platter for entree,choice of fish chicken or rib eye steak for main & a tappers platter for desert. The food was very good,well presented, beautifully cooked & tasted great! Would have happily had seconds of everything!
This restaurant by far is the best food in the bay, I have eaten at most the top restaurants in this area and Mount Bistro has the best food! Only reason they didn’t get a 5 was because the staff were dressed to casual wearing jandles/sandals and it took about 15 mins to get our first drink. Also, the décor inside prob needs an update some time soon
Wonderful meal until I had the dessert. The yoghurt sauce was off and fermented. Unbelievably bad for an award winning restaurant. It should never have happened. The dessert was replaced but no great apology made. Customer service was poor. Upon payment no mention of the dessert was made and the entire meal had to be paid for. Upon telephoning the owner the next day and suggesting the customer service was very lacking as to how it was handled (I would have thought the dessert should not have been charged) he apologised and said he would send a voucher for a free dessert as a compensation. The voucher has never been received. Excuse the pun but the whole experience has left a sour taste!!!
