OFFICIALLY one of our faves! FYI, we visited the Rising Tide in Mount Maunganui, but couldn’t find a separate page for that. Anywho, we popped in for some after-work dumplings and beer, as you do. And boy, were we BLOWN away. We went in before the crowds on a Thursday and noticed it getting super busy, so best to go when it’s quiet. Dumplings from Johney’s Dumplings were beyond amazing and the beer is soooooo good. This is definitely one of those regular hangout spots we’re putting on our faves list. The new kid on the block and an impressive kid. Fairly sure it wasn’t here when we came past last year but I could be wrong (after all am just an amateur diner – unqualified at that). It has that funky outdoor vibe going on with cool decor, heaps of people having fun, sort of a bit like Astrolabe but smaller, with a rustic wooden atmosphere. The pièce de résistance here are the sharing platters, seafood or meat, both of which were simply sensational.. do not miss!
