Such a cool and hip place to drop by for someone who has a sweet tooth. The cupcakes we had were visually beautiful. We tried the snickers and lemon cheesecake cupcake. They both tasted delicious however after awhile they got a bit sickening because started getting way to sweet. Massive thickness of icing, it was a bit more of, would like a bit of cupcake with that icing? The sweetness of icing was a bit overpowering and could only just taste the flavor of the cupcakes. I absolutely love icing but personally for me there was way too much and not enough of the cake. However like a said great for someone who has a sweet tooth. The oreo milkshake was also delicious. Presentation a plus!
Upon arriving at the Mount on a torrential downpour day, I was after a little bit of sugar to calm the nerves. Signposted like a message of the gods from the Main Street was Sugar Town, which seemed just the ticket. We ventured up to Sugar Town Cake Parlour, a little apprehensive about the nearby construction but inside was a haven of calm.Sugar Town has a wide range of cabinet food and a small range of hot meals available on order. While a big menu can be fantastic, I liked that they were championing what they do well – cupcakes and cakes. I selected a plain croissant for the toddler (which arrived light and fluffy) and a Jaffa cupcake for myself. The cupcake had an amazing icing/cake ratio and gave me a good solid sugary kick in the pants. There’s no denying that this is a treat food, but who doesn’t deserve treats now and then. The mocha was well-prepared and enjoyable. The bakery seems well-patronized by workers in the area which is generally a good sign. Staff were family-friendly but bare in mind that there was (as of our visit) no high chair which may be an issue with smaller children. All in all a fantastic morning/afternoon tea option if you are needing something sweet in the Mount area.Sarah Reynolds #challenge sweetmamam.wordpress.com
