It’s second time visit, first one was good. And Good food but Very slow service, we waited for 15 minutes to get serve and waiting time to get our food is like an hour. We like this restaurant before but don’t think we will be back again after starving for almost 1,5 hours waiting. And the waiter was taking one of our order wrong. It’s not worth the wait.
Polite service but it would have been nice to have our meals brought out together. And to have them hot. My meal had almost no taste even though I’d asked for a hot nasi goreng. There was not a vegetable in sight. The meat was possibly a hundred years old and actually disgusting. The rice was undercooked crunchy and the egg on top was burnt. For $23.50! When I asked for some chili sauce or oil to season my food, they brought tabasco. I have had good nasi goreng here last year, which is why I brought my friend back, but maybe they have changed the chef. Or else – reading the other reviews – the staff might be unhappy. Note to manager: if you treat your staff well, they will be loyal and productive and you will have happier customers.
We won’t be returning. Although most of the food was good it took 50 minutes and a follow up for our entree to arrive, and another 45 minutes and follow up for most of the mains, the last took an hour. When the waitress finally brought the meals out she didn’t even know what the dishes were or who ordered them. At no point did anyone come to let us know there would be a delay or to ask us for more drinks. The red curry, pork and ginger stir fry and satay chicken in particular was very tasty but the fish was very over cooked.
A genuine 5.0!! Very hard to fault. I ate at Taste of Asia tonight & was very impressed. The environment was relaxing with all the table candles lit & pleasant music playing in the background. I was waited on by Mauricio who was very welcoming, friendly & professional. I could tell he had a good understanding of the menu. What topped the experience was the food!! I had the battered prawn cutlets as an appetizer -yum!! & the Pad Met Mamaung as a main (cashew dish). It was divine! Plenty of coconut sauce & cashew nuts. From my experience tonight I feel there’s no substance to the previous negative feedback & I will certainly dine here again when I’m back down on business.
Food is very average and over priced. Vegetables were inedible mush, they tasted like they were frozen veggies which were thawed again. Would not really recommend.
Went to Taste of Asia during our visit to MT Maunganui few weeks ago. What an awesome environment. The restaurant set up is just amazing. Family had a fantastic night. Food was delicious. Great customer service. Every bit was worth it.Highly recommended.
