I went here with a couple friends last weekend for breakfast. The cafe is in a really nice spot just across the road from the beach, it has plenty of seating with a big outdoor area as well. The service was good, our waitress was friendly and took our drink and food orders as soon as she could. Did one meal check but other than the first drink order never asked if we wanted any others. The food was good I guess, I had the waffles along with one of my friends and my other two friends had the eggs Benedict with side’s. The waffle were really dry and the whipped coconut cream didn’t help with that. There also wasn’t a lot of flavor as the banana was raw and there wasn’t much else on the plate. Benes were good but nothing special for the amount you pay for them!Probably wouldn’t come here again unless I was getting a takeaway coffee and cake as there are plenty of other cafes to try.
I had the salmon bowl and its so delicious! I would definitely go back for it! For a hot weather like this, you may want something fresh, filling, and healthy! ☺️
Tried Tay Street Beach Cafe for lunch without the kids. Damn good fish and chips, mediocre coffee, erratic service (great waitress – not so great waiter). The decor is a bit basic and it’s not a place to go for a romantic dinner. It is however a great place to sit outside to watch the world go by but I don’t think we will be back.
Came here on the 30th of Jan which is obviously a busy holiday period. Was promptly shown to a table and we chose the energy breakfast, poached eggs with mushrooms on the side, and fish and chips. It was quite busy and there was a 30 minute wait on coffee but the waitress was lovely and attentive, always checking in on us etc. The food was good and priced as you would expect at a beachside cafe (around $19 on average for each dish). Would recommend if you are in the area!
Our rental had the menu for this cafe and it was within walking distance so one morning, we grabbed a cup of coffee to go. the service was great and the cafe has a good menu. We both get flat whites which were decent and I also got a muffin. The muffin was huge and good. Next time were in the area, I’ll definitely try eat in. astylecollector.com
We had the sashimi and lamb kofta to start and the fish of the day with coconut rice as main. The sashimi was my favourite. My choice for dessert not available. The meal was let down by delay between courses. We will be back though.
This lone cafe restaurant 5 mins drive south of the main set of Mount cafes caters for the affluent holiday owners that frequent their nearby baches and a few unqualified amateur diners like myself. Coming with good recommendation we decided to try and weren’t disappointed. [Pet peeve alert: We were placed right next to another occupied table even though the restaurant was essentially empty.] It’s not a pretentious cafe, but it does have a nice menu, and my prawn and chorizo linguini sang like a flute, followed by a summer berry trifle that was succulent and fresh. Service was very friendly and definitely the place to stop in at if you are swimming at Tay St beach!
