Wow, the Mexican here is amazing. Service average but the food was great. We came during the holidays so we enjoyed the super cheap $5 margarita Sunday’s. Amazing value for money. The Chili con queso was good but the corn chips tasted like they were out of a packet rather than freshly made and personally I found the cheese sauce a but sickening after a few dips. You have to really be a cheese lover to get right into this one. The Fried Chicken was pretty good however when I think of boneless chicken I don’t expect to find cartilage in half of our pieces so that for me ruined that dish. The chimichanga my niece got I was able to sample and it tasted like a pie haha but that’s not to say I didn’t like it because I did. The highlight for me wasn’t just the cheap Margarita though, it was the Sautéed Chicken Tacos – these were amazing! I was licking my fingers and plate amazing. 5/5 perfection and highly recommend!
Ambience is superb! 5/5We came 8pm, we were told to order fast as they will close 9pm. I did find in the website that theyre open til late. We didnt get offended as the staff was friendly but got disappointed.Food was okay. Taste is 2/5 but serving size is 2/5.We did a research and knew this place could be pricey BUT we dont mind as long as the taste is worth the price.However, Prices are high considering serving size and taste. Not worth the price.We had Burrito, Chicken tacos, Fajita, Enchilada, Chimichanga, Quesadilla chicken.The tacos was good but 22nzd, with 2pcs of approx 2inches chicken each taco.Very friendly staff 5/5. Wonderful people!
Me and my partner are alwaaaaaays at barrio brothers! So we are definately regulars! But tonight for instance the food was just so so delicious! I feel like every time I go it’s just an amazing atmosphere, amazing food and just the staff in general are lovely and so welcoming! I tried the calamari for the first time tonight and I’ve never eaten something so delicious in my life! Keeps getting better and better
My favourite Mexican place *EVER*. It’s my go-to when in the Mount / Tauranga. Great service, fast kitchen, great cocktails and the food never disappoints. Everyone I have taken there loves it too. I love getting the bocadito plates to share. I live for the chili con queso and $10 sangria jugs on Sundays! And it’s so nice to eat at a place that has enough wait staff/ bartenders and chefs. Gluten free friendly too. My only complaint would be that the place sometimes isn’t big enough- in summer it’s a mission to get a table! Will keep coming back!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE BARRIO BROTHERS! I have been here probably six times and every time I have been so happy every time! Their food is amazing and the staff are all so kind. I love the chairs they have outside they’re so big and comfortable. I have chosen something different from the menu every time I’ve been and I have never been disappointed. The food comes out so fast! The only thing that is as good as their food is their frozen cocktails. I would recommend their prawn soft shell tacos and passionfruit frozen cocktails.
i have been here twice and im very impressed! i have had the chicken enchiladas which was the best mexican dish i’ve had! also have had the crispy chicken tacos, food is amazing! staff are friendly and the food doesn’t take forever to come.
