Wanting to support local business we attempted to have a meal on New Years Eve. We were the first diners in the restaurant and our table did not receive all the meals that were ordered. The delay in getting the meals that did come out was far too long, the waitress didn’t know what the specials were and the Manager was very unhelpful, refusing to accept responsibility. Isn’t that what Managers are paid for! The meat came out raw, when one meal was sent back it came back charcol, we thought that was a joke, after that we paid for what we did have and left and will never go back. They seemed to be hugely understaffed for such a big nite. A very sad situation! A let down for our New Years Eve nite out.
I would loved to have given a 5 star rating but unfortunately the bar and wait staff let the team down on the night we were there (2 Nov 2013). The waitress that served us could do well with completing a course in hospitality and table presentation and the male bar staff member should know that it’s not a good look to chew gum while working, no matter how discrete you think you are trying to do it. That said, the food was absolutely delicious and well worth the wait.
Had a great night watching the All blacks , nice atmosphere , good food and service. Will be back for sure 🙂 the dukebox was fun for the kids and adults good to have a local bar close to home , good crowd made the night enjoyable also .
The Boulevard Restaurant has done a complete turnaround lately and we’re impressed. The food is top class and equal to anything at Mount Maunganui. The prices are a little more, but are also in line with the best restaurants at the Mount. Hey, it’ so nice to have a local where we can trust that the food will be excellent and where we can take our friends and family and know it will be a great night. Thanks Boulevard for getting it right.
Visited the new Boulevard Cafe on Sunday. LOVED IT!! I had the most delicious lemon citrus tart and a beautifully made cappuccino. The decor is just right for a modern, trendy feel and it’s nicely placed for that warm, afternoon sun. Saw a friend of mine and he said him and his wife have been a couple of times and will definitely be frequenting that place. Well needed down that end of town. Good job Boulevard Restaurant! 🙂
New management this year and the place is really lifted. Great food as well as good for a drink and nibbles. We are enjoying this new local and have been back a couple of times. We recommend giving it another try and talking to the new staff
Had dinner and drinks the other night, there were 10 of us eating found the meals to be beautiful and well presented, the staff were friendly and excellent service. Will definitely be telling others and going to The Boulevard. Management and staff over the night offered us the courtesy van for a ride home if needed. Many thanks to the staff and management for a good night.
