Was not happy with my experience here, the girl at the counter looked like she didn’t want to be there she never smiled once, fries were stone cold. All the seats were wet so we had to dry them ourselves and the high chair was dirty. Don’t think I will go back there again this is my 2nd bad experience.
We have had coffees many times here and always found them excellent. Our son, who is a coffee fanatic when up from Christchurch always goes here for a great coffee made by the barista.We have also enjoyed a work do, lunches and high teas.What a fabulous setting for food, wine and music in a garden!Jill
Had lunch there today 6th February 2014. We were very disappointed with the whole experience. We always seem to run across good places but not here. The place wasn’t too busy and it was 12:50pm when we arrived. Ordered 2blts and 2 double shot coffees. My coffee was nice but my wife didn’t drink hers as she said it was watery. Our meal didn’t arrive after 40 minutes and I and several others asked where our meals were, the blts arrived after 45 minutes and were not nice at all. The toast was hardly cooked at all and the filling was greasy, the chips were nice though. The staff were very friendly but the food and coffee were bad.. Sorry,we won’t be back
Not very impressed with this cafe, goodwill counts for nothing, being going to this cafe once a week for over a year, because it’s local. When I asked one of the staff for a favour to ice my cake with some of his left over icing he willingly obliged. Then the cafe owner told him to charge me $10. I wouldn’t have minded if the charge was reasonable but $10 for a bit of icing and some writing slapped on a cake is way over the top. Wasn’t even a professional job. We will be voting with our feet!!
