UPDATE: This review has been updated. I visited Bravo, following a first visit on which I was very impressed. This time, I went very early in the morning just as they opened. They didn’t have wifi, which was really inconvenient and is a bit shocking in 2017, but I excused them and ordered a cappuccino to go before heading someplace else. When my drink came, it was the worst coffee I had tasted ever; bitter and very poorly made. Call me fickle but yes, I do judge a cafe by its coffee, so had to adjust this rating. Working in the heart of Tauranga really is both a pleasure and a pain; a pleasure, because of all the lovely foodie options available and a pain because weight management. Cafe Bravo was a quick brunch when we forgot to bring our lunch with, but ended up being one of our absolute favourites! I had a hashbrown stack, which was so beautifully presented that I almost didn’t want to eat it. It looked to yum though. And it was. Absolutely delicious from the first bite to the last. Was a quick stop, so didn’t have much time to chat, but the staff were friendly and the atmosphere was quiet, yet pleasant. I cannot praise this restaurant enough. This is the second time we have been to Bravo in 4 mths. My daughter and family from Wellington were up in October and requested to have a family dinner for 13 for her 40th on Wednesday night 20/01/16 due to her last experience. We were well looked after by the American waitress and she was such a delight and interacted with the family and made our night. Although we were the only people in the restaurant all our meals came out at the same time and there was not one complaint of the quality of food. Everything was beautifully presented and delicious. My pasta was made to order, pizza made to order, scotch fillet perfect, Thai curry, pork belly, portobello mushrooms, scallops rack of lamb all had beautiful flavours. For a top notch menu I thought it was well priced compared to other restaurants in Tauranga. Also they cater BYO plus corkage. PLEASE EXPERIENCE FOR YOURSELVES.Jo Stewart
Went here for breakfast on the 18/10/2015.staff was nice, food was delicious, service was quik. We were all very happy with our breakfast.
Great place! Have eaten here twice, they have great cabinet selection and they do gluten free options on both the menu and in the cabinet. Best BLT I’ve ever had!A few gripes though. The wait can be a little long, even for cabinet food. Also their drinks in the fridge are overpriced. We went in just before 10am and were told we couldn’t come in unless we wanted coffee, because they weren’t doing food yet- just thought it was a little odd. Will be back though, great food 🙂
Amazing!! Had my wedding reception at Bravo and could not ask for a better night!! All the stuff were amazing and kind, no problems what so ever, easy to deal with and Jeni the host was just fab, could of not done it without her!
I had an Eggs Benedict here several months back. The biggest disappointment is I haven’t found time to return! It a VERY spacious place and well lit.Sorry Bravo! I promise to come back asap for another one of your excellent breakfasts! Please don’t have changed!
Enjoyed our time they had fanastic customer service, pleasant and polite. Great fresh food and coffee. Were busy but still got everything in a timely manner. Staff checked we were happy and if we needed anything. Offered a high chair, colouring pencils and paper for my 2year old. We will be back great to be able to sit outside and enjoy the sun!
