Used to be such a lovely place for brunch or a coffee, but now that it is a buffet style restaurant I won’t be going again. Very crowded and noisy, cheap and fried food, and limited choices if you don’t eat seafood. Not to mention some of the dishes on the menu were of available to us. A shame because it is a great location and used to be one of our regular hang outs.
Nice place to come for brunch, right by the waterfront. We also came here for dinner one night. It is a little bit more on the fancier side and the portions could have been a bit bigger. The food was nice though.
Went to this restaurant for a birthday lunch as we were recommended. Sadly the food was rather average, service lacked took a long time for the waiter to bring drinks, plates for cake (20mins) so we gave up and got our own. So many tables, so with it being a buffet style difficult to walk around. Staff were friendly but not very experienced. Probably won’t return in any hurry
Came here on New Year’s Eve, was totally disappointed with the service and the food. The food was barely warm. The shrimps were off! And smells like rotten rubbish. My partner vomited after eating it. Informed the staff about it, they just said sorry and walked off. Few minutes later, they continue to serve more rotten shrimps out for other customers. Totally not accepted. Came to the buffet mainly for the oysters. Another huge disappointment, sat at the restaurant for about an hour and oysters were not served once. The previous batch of oysters that were served also had complains by another couple saying that it was not fresh and had to spit it out. And made a complain as wellIt seems like the manager on duty ( GUACHIN GURUNG) that day did not care at all . And just wants us to pay and leave. Huge disappointment for a New Year’s Eve dinner. Never coming back and not recommended !!!
Had dinner here tonight with friends. Such a lovely place to dine. Smorgasbord menu which has a lovely range of salads, seafood and hot food. I tried a bit of everything and couldn’t fault it. Food was replenished quickly and tasted great. Lovely range of puddings which looked to be made both in house and brought in. My birthday was the following day so I got to eat for free! Would highly recommend this little gem of a place. Set along the water front, perfect for drink in the sun or a stroll afterwards.Staff were lovely and helpful.
My wife and I came here for a buffet lunch without the kids. It was our first time and we enjoyed it. We knew going in that it was very cheap for a buffet, so assumed that meant the quality of the food would be reasonably average. So long as you keep that in mind, you won’t be disappointed. The food was probably better than I expected but certainly isn’t gourmet. The location is nice and the outside area was great on a sunny day.The staff were friendly and efficient. Overall it was nice and I’d certainly go back.
Very busy and somewhat cramped but amazing food, would be perfect with a few less tables, friendly staff who are attentive but not pushy, Tauranga finally after many years has a buffet restaurant to be proud of
