What a dreadful place. Found the chefs wedding ring in my meal. Surely she would have missed it? Waitress was beside herself but manager didn’t give a toss. Manager told me she dried her hands over the salad. Not the best explanation I have heard. You would be mad to eat here.
Sad to see poor reviews for this place, as I had a great experience. I am from Auckland, travelled with a large group to Whakatane to visit White Island.The night before our White Island tour I booked a table for 12 about an hour before we wanted to dine, as we all wanted to re-live our chilhood with ‘traffic lights’ and ‘Pink Panthers’. Despite the short notice they accommodated all of us. Not only did they accommodate us all, but our food (which is fantastic) all came out at the same time and they even let us put alcohol in the traffic lights! We had our mini pencils and our activity mats too!(grown adults require these at Cobb & Co). When we left the lady that had helped us remember what EACH person had and split the bill perfectly. Awesome. Thanks Cobb & Co Whakatane! I will be back for sure!
Kia ora,We had just dined at Cobb and Co in Whakatane. The meal was beautiful, however, upon paying for the dinner bill, I was absolutely disgusted with the price of a jug of orange juice. I did express my shock of horror to the manager at Cobb and Co in Whakatane and she suggested I access the main branch in Tauranga via internet hence is why I am expressing my disgust via internet. I cannot fathom how you come up with a rip off price of 18.80 for a jug of orange juice, over a 100% mark up on profit. I am going back to the coast with a sour taste in my mouth and feeling ill about the charges placed on a jug of juice. I am also going to blacklist Cobb and Co and tell the whanau not to support this restaurant until I hear from the manager or they review their pricing. I would have been better off buying 2 bottles of Steinlager, it would have been a lot cheaper than a jug of juice.
My family an I have had meals at this Cobb Co several times an have found the service and food exceptional that’s why we keep going back, it’s my 8yr old daughter’s favourite place to dine out. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Not a great experience which was really disappointing on our last night of holiday. The shrimp cocktail was not edible, shrimps had obviously been frozen and were watery and tasteless. If your child doesn’t like BBQ sauce, don’t order kids cheeseburger. Desserts for those who ordered arrived within minutes of mains being finished and the main plates were not cleared. Not asked for any drink orders other than original ordered, any other desserts or tea and coffee. Waitress pointed to a backboard on the far wall when we asked for the specials and didn’t seem to know the menu. Seafood chowder and coconut chicken was nice but won’t be going back.
