Great choices on the menu for both adults and kids. The kids fish and chips massive piece if real fish. The kids chicken was a smaller replica of an adults meal with same lovely presentation. All kids meals came with ice cream Sunday. I had the duck it was amazing would definitely recommend. We had the trickle pudding defiantly homemade also amazing with lots of sauce. Service was a bit slow but friendly. Colouring in for kids, pleasant decore.
If it is good food and service you want, then you won’t be disappointed at my favourite restaurant in Whakatane. Roquette is definitly tops all round in my view. Their cuisine is just sensational and they would be on a level that would match those nationawide! I have dined here 5 times and whenever I have had the opportunity to do so. They have a great menu selection right down to desserts and great customer service which is just a plus. Highly recommended.
This is an absolute top restaurant, one which any major city would be proud to have. Their cuisine is superb and includes great seafood options, much of which is locally sourced. Have dined here regularly in small and large groups and the restaurant has always demonstrated great service and attention to customer satisfaction. Recently there when the restaurant hosted. Over 40 diners in a single grouping and was highly spoken of next day. Highly recommended if you are visiting Whakatane.
Meal was absolutely delicious. The only thing that let down the experience was the local tap water that they served. Whakatane tap water smells and tastes like its come from a drain (sorry home town, I love you but it’s true). I usually only drink tap water and so this is my drink of choice at a restaurant as well. The little things count when you are paying top dollar (in Whakatane) for a dining experience. I was disappointed that my suggestion to filter the water was ignored and no reply deemed necessary. It would be better to not offer water if they don’t want to offer drinkable water with a meal. I would definitely go back though as the food is divine and service was great during the meal.

Excellent service and meals on our first visit. A Roquette tasting plate to start with hit all the right notes with a great mix of flavours and dips. Our generous portions for mains, all well cooked and presented, were enjoyable. The stack of pork topped with crispy Palmer ham was excellent. Unable to get to the desert menu, something to look forward to on our return.
Great place to eat, food is always outstanding. Since they have opened they have not missed a beat with food and service! Always fresh and inspiring in both food, service and ambience. The restaurant and environment are always spotlessly clean. Keep up the good work Roquette.
