The minute I see a triangular packaged hash brown and not a properly made one I know a cafe has very average standards. This was to be the case.
A small cafe that is tucked into the corner of The Bed Shop. They were very slow to clear tables and none of those that were eventually cleared were wiped. The service on ordering was okay but a long discussion over my ‘double black’ terminology from the kitchen, that was clearly audible to me, as I sat waiting was not appreciated. FYI it is a standard coffee term, guys. My chicken salad was awful. A small green salad swimming in aioli was skimpily dressed with a few bits of microwaved re-heat chicken, one small undercooked rasher of streaky bacon and 4 pecan nuts. This came to $20.50. There are plenty of places offering $10 lunches (Regatta is close) that are so much better than this.
Great food, especially the cheese rolls and toasties, but food in the cabinet can be quite expensive compared to similar places, so not always a great value for money when dropping in for a quick snack. I’d definitely encourage anyone who comes here to order the food from the menu! The wedges are particularly delicious and it’s a much better experience overall.Coffee is nice and strong, service is friendly and fast.
