  We went for brunch. The atmosphere was nice, however as they opened up the doors shortly after we sat down, it was freezing inside and that made it quite unpleasant. The wait on food was quite long, and there were only two other people there with us. We got the salmon and polenta fries, pulled pork burger, and an entrée of fries, squid rings, and various other things. The salmon was really good and so were the polenta fries. However the lemon yogurt sauce did not go very well with it. The pulled pork burger made a right mess with the amount of liquid that came out of it spilling off the board. The fries bowl was very average too. All in all, we probably wouldn’t go back again.

  Ordered the Hot chicken open sandwich with fries. Good quantity for lunch however I did order a side of extra chipotle mayo but never got it as they never put enough mayo onto the sandwich. Chips were slightly cold after they were brought out so didn’t finish them. The bread under the chicken and bacon should be bigger as the chicken fillet was too big and kept slipping off. Avocado smash underneath was tasteless. All in all this is my third attempt at going here to give them a chance and to be fair don’t think I will go back again. Nice staff but food taste lacking. My friend had the Moroccan lamb with pita bread. He said it was cold and lacking in explosive flavour.

  I was happy at first but then I found a lot of eggshells in my eggs Benedict! I was so devastated haha! Other than that, the service was good, the food was presented very well and my partner loved his open chicken sandwich! Would recommend going here on a grab one deal or first table because personally I wouldn’t pay full price

  Good coffee (that’s always important to me) dined with my family for lunch. Nice food, I had chicken sandwich which was okay but heavy on the bread. Nice fries. My daughter had a pumpkin salad which was the pick of the meals. My husband chose bruschetta which was supposed to be a small bite but ended up being 3 large portions (he didn’t mind) I felt the menu and little pricey for the type of food.

  Have had lunch here four times now, but would not return again. This place has one of the lowest ratings for christchurch on zomato. Always skimpy on the size of the meals.Ordered BBQ venison short rib salad, they won a hospitality award for this dish. It only had three small short ribs, one had hardly any meat on it and a huge amount of dark very sweet sauce that swamped the salad. I had a lingering bad taste in my mouth for an hour afterwards, not good. This meal didn’t look anything like the photo on there web site.The service is great, but the size of the meals has been very small every time. I would of loved to have got the meal that’s in the photo on the web site, but that’s not what I was served.Come on sugerhorse get your sh-t together and do a decent sized meal and stop being so miserly. I really don’t like handing over good money for such a bad return, its like food fraud.

  Staff were pleasant food was ok, but for the price, the portions were pretty small, left feeling a little peckish after spending $60+ just for lunch

  Good friendly service which was great. We both ordered a Cajun chicken salad each though and although it tasted nice, it was way too small. There is no excuse in NZ, in Summer, when everything is in season, to provide a really small salad for $20.00. Also only a small portion of chicken – I could forgive this if the greens, pepper and other salad ingredients amounted to more but unfortunately they didn’t! Not cool and doesn’t encourage either of us returning.
