Had the chicken karaage and okonomiyaki. I wasn’t expecting much, but the dish was amazing. It can be passed of as a dish being served in a Japanese restaurant. Will definitely be back for other things. Table service was okay.
Booked a table here for lunch today, staff were very accommodating to our party of 3 with a toddler. Husbands flat white was strong and well made. My chai latte tasted like it was made from a powder mix as apposed to using their own house made chai syrup (something I would expect from here) or brewing loose leaf chai in milk which is the lengthy but traditional way. My eggs royale (with house made smoked salmon) were cooked well but the hollandaise was too vinegary and runny, causing the english muffin to go soggy. Chips were crispy and aioli was amazing but the quality of food does not match the price tag.
Dropped in during the lunchtime rush. Food pretty average for a place that touts itself on food presentation and taste. I’ll try elsewhere next time.
Been here a few times for lunch and for coffees. It is consistent but on the pricey side. Can get busy at lunchtime so always try and reserve a table. The outside area can be cold so best spot is in the sunny inside room. Noisy when busy. Service usually ok. Nice gift shop attached.
We visited Terra Viva for brunch on the Wednesday before Christmas. While they were not full, every single table had a reserved sign so it was lucky we had a booking. We saw several people without bookings being turned away.We ordered two breakfasts and two lunches. All were excellent.I looked no further than their signature dish: hot smoked salmon with bacon jam textured salad. Served in a large mason jar, this was refreshing and fun to eat. Tasty, inspired and light. Just what I felt like after a flight. Generous amount of hot smoked salmon and plenty of tasty bacon jam. I also liked the beetroot chips. The chef’s special po’ boy (sub sandwich) was fried chicken very good. We loved the presentation on the black slate and wedges in the mini fryer basket. Eggs bene with bacon came with perfectly poached eggs and the classic french toast with banana, bacon and looked great with plenty of maple syrup. We also added an extra order of fries to share. The atmosphere is relaxed and casual and we were glad to be seated in the courtyard in the shade of a tree. The service was good. The staff were friendly and efficient and the drinks and food came quickly. The prices are steep for brunch but for the quality and presentation of the food, I think they prices are fair. Not your weekly brunch spot but good for special occasions. Happy to return. bunnyeatsdesign.com
Firstly we didn’t book so we got placed in there outdoor conservatory, If your going to seat people outside then have adequate heating it was so cold by the end of it I couldn’t feel my toes.We did ask to be moved inside when a free table came available but as tables came and went they didn’t even bother to ask. (we even asked 3 waitresses). They really didn’t care.Secondly the place is so over priced! $24.00 for eggs bene, most places you can get a whole big breakfast for that! I got something from the cabinet and the waitress said with salad or chips, si I went with salad thinking it most have come with, but no it was charged later on to our bill. Make it clear that you are offering a side. Overall I was disappointed with the service most of all. Food was okay but not amazing mindthecrumbs.com
as a visitor to christchurch i decided to take my mum out for lunch. i goggled deli cafes and Terra was what came up so we went there! beautiful setting and the most helpful and friendly staff!! the food was OK but the prices for what we received left me shocked as i payed $4.50 for a single poached egg to go on top of my green side salad and the egg came after i had eaten half of my salad! as a chef i am more than happy to pay for quality but when i do decide to go out i expect it be AMAZING! Anyway the coffee was nice and most of all the wait staff were very good.
