The Flying Pig is the best little place to eat in the entire Oamaru/Waitaki area. Quality food cooked by the owner, great coffee, lovely friendly service, cakes to die for, also baked on the premises. Lovely shady outdoor area. We have been eating at the Flying Pig for 20 +years through three different owners. The current owners are by far and away the best!!

Flying Pig Cafe in the town of Duntroon, talk about the most amazing cafe ive been in! My partner and I were travelling through and were in desperate need of a good coffee, we had our little dog with us so stopping was hard. The staff were more than inviting, offering for our puppy to come inside aswell as enjoying a delicious coffee that hit the spot we felt welcomed and really appreciate their understanding for our puppy! Top marks guys, don’t stop what your doing =)

There are two things in Duntroon. The Flying Pig and the fossil museum. Both are excellent. The Flying Pig has it all – The name, the colour (pink), the coffee, the food and the service. We were staying up at Danseys Pass and went there on the first day in town and had a coffee and saw the excellent menu and the quality of the food. Lunch on the next day did not let us down. There is lots to see in the area if you like fossils, rock paintings, scenery and quiet.
