Went here after a few good comments from friends and was pre-warned they can be quite grumpy and unfriendly most of the time.And they didn’t disappoint on this fact either, we were greeted with hostility and did not feel that our business was welcomed and to the point they even turned customers away 25mins before close as they’d already turned the grille off n were just waiting on current orders to finish off cooking. Once we were served we were shoo’d out the door so they could close and lock the doors behind us early – aren’t advertised trading hours what your supposed to be open unless you’ve got signs up saying closing early(nothing of the sort) or am I just being fussy?Got home went to eat our feed to find the chips were half cooked, the potato fritters were a slab of battered raw potato slice – the batter was the only cooked part of them, the fish was a over priced poxy little chunk of fish and the hotdogs were just battered savaloy on a stick.Overall the price was quite expensive for a basic feed of fish and chips compared to other shops. Didn’t enjoy this experience, the below par food or service and probably won’t go back there – have found other local shops that are well above Halswell Seafoods calibre

I would like to recommend our local fish n chip shop. I can always rely on fast, friendly and efficient service but more importantly, on the well cooked delicious food with excellent value for money. Ridiculously small fish for what we were charged and the chips were about the same, with this we will not be going back there in the future.
