We had a kids lunch pack, two teriyaki chicken boxes and a soy flat white. This cost around $35. The food look nice in the display cabinet and tasted as expected. The coffee came with a mini penguin cookie, which was really cute. After just attending a talk about how rubbish (among other things) is affecting the local penguins environment, it would have been nice to see the cafe have food with less packaging, including water by the glass instead of plastic bottles.
Last weekend my husband and I took our grandchildren to the Antarctic Centre. After viewing the penguins and exhibits we decided to have lunch there at the café.What a disappointment — I chose a cheese roll for a 2.5 yr old it arrived as a wet soggy mess but she ate it . The 2.5 yrold boy had a mince savoury , he ate the lid and refused the dark overcooked meat inside. The 12yr old chose a Cranberry and chicken Bagel and had much difficulty cutting it up with a knife and fork . As for myself, in the cabinet , it looked delicious, a french toast sandwich but the use of a microwave killed it , no longer crisp and toasty but now a soggy mess like the cheese roll,. To add to the misery the sausage roll( my husbands choice) was also obviously reheated in a microwave Yuk pastry. The need to learn how to reheat in a toasting equipment.Wish I had complained at the time now,
