Excellent service and food. Great owner who always remembers you. I’ve ordered everything on the menu for my lunches and been in to dine in once or twice with family, excellent chinese.
Went here for dinner. Service was good. Fried rice was expensive for what it is. We had sweet and sour chicken,which when arrive was 2 big peices of crumbed chicken possibly processed, top with sauce. Sweet and sour usually comes with Veges and pineapple chunks so was disappointed since we like Veges in our meals. The crispy chicken we ordered looked the same and again no Veges. So we couldn’t eat all of it because it was all deep fried and you got a bit bored of the chicken with sauce. The bill came to over $70 dollars for 2 people with one drink each and a starter to share. Very over priced Chinese.
Excellent food, friendly service, and a nice atmosphere.Had the Cathay’s Beef special, which was recommended to me by a friend who told me about this place. Came in with the missus not expecting too much but was pleasantly surprised. Very flavourful dish with a nice presentation, seeing the egg on the side still frying on the hot plate as it was delivered to my table had my mouth watering well before I took my first bite.The lady who served us was quite friendly and service was exceptional. I can see why my friend thought for us to give Cathay’s a try and why it seemed like some of the other diners here were regulars and knew her well. It was quite relaxing being able to eat my meal in the peaceful environment of the restaurant.Small detail here, but the interior is nicely designed as well. It reminded me of a warm, homely look, and the bathroom was surprisingly clean. The fact that the owners care about how the place looks and feels to its customers really shines through here.All in all, it was a great dining experience that I’ll be sure to recommend to friends and family. Would definitely give Cathay’s two thumbs up and will come back soon.
Excellent food and service cannot fault it.It pays to book on weekends. The menu has a large variety of different dishes. Highly recommended.
I searched online for Chinese restaurants in Hornby this came up with good reviews????? I was very disappointed, the meat in both dishes one chicken & one beef were formed or processed not good at $15 per dish. I ordered these dishes and expected quality not processed crap.I also ordered spring rolls they were ok.I will not be returning.
yum! lots of meat Smothered in sauce with nice small vegetables. The meals I have had have all been really tasty. The car park is a bit tricky. Dine in or takeaway the atmosphere is homely and friendly.
This is the best chinese place in town. The owner remembers us, knows what we like and always enquires after our family. We have taken family and friends here. The food is always good, the prices are reasonable, service is friendly.
