I decided to treat myself to fish and chips, so I looked up the best fish and chip shop in Christchurch and was told this is it! Unfortunately – that is about as far from the truth as possible. This was definitely the WORST fish and chips I’ve ever had in my life. I had an Akaroa cod. The batter was soaked with fishy water. I tried to scrape the gluggy batter off but underneath was just a slimey, fishy smelling piece of cod. The tartare sauce sold at the counter in pottles was off. I had to run to the toilet and spit it out. The chips were the only non expired item in my parcel – and they were overcooked, dry and tasteless. Don’t be fooled by the clean and well presented décor – the food is terrible. Go to Fresco round the corner, you’ll have a better experience.
