I dined at Kum Pun Thai last night. The service was so quick and very friendly. The food arrived very quickly and was so fresh and delicious and tasty. I can’t recommend it enough, it was beautiful. I will be back often!!!
What a shame.The food is presented so beautifully and let down by rude waitresses.It didn’t bother me as such that we had to wait over an hour for our food, which didn’t even come all at the same time because the way the food was presented almost made you forget. I felt like the waitresses could have communicated better that there was going to be a wait. My food didn’t come out at the same time so naturally I thought something had been forgotten. I asked the waitress and she snapped at me, I almost had the feeling she was accusing me of not ordering it in the first place.The service really started to bother as we were going to pay. One of our guests paid for a few meals and accidentally forgot about one. He was accused by one of the waitress’s for trying to leave without paying. He simply forgot and paid. He was asking about the price of a couple of things and she replied ‘is that alright with you’ in a rude tone. So when I went to pay I politely told her that they had great food, but poor service. She rolled her eyes. As someone who works in the industry I find it simply not ok to be this way around customers. At the end of the day a restaurant could serve the most delicious food, but if the service is poor, it ruins the whole experience.I won’t be back.
The service here was shocking. We arrived on time and had to go and track down a waitress to place our orders as we had been left for twenty minutes after we had been seated. We ordered entrees and mains and the entrees took fifty minutes to arrive. They didn’t all arrive at the same time and two people got their mains then. Half an hour later the rest of the table got their mains apart from two people who still had not received any food at all. We had been here for nearly two hours at this point. Several of the meals were cold when we got them and the portions were small. When the last two people received their meals they found chicken in their beef curry. They received their entrees after their mains once they reminded the waitress about them. At this point we had had a pretty terrible night. None of our party were drinking but we were told by the staff that the reason for the delay was that we had not ordered the entrees at all. Which was highly questionable as we had checked our order halfway through the night when we inquired about the huge delay. When we went to pay we told them we were unhappy with the service (and we still had to wait at the counter for at least another ten minutes for someone to serve us so we could leave) but they were extremely rude. In the end they offered us a ten percent discount on our meals. I would not consider this enough as the food and the service were both really sub-par. I will never come here again and would recommend to avoid this place like the plague.
Highly disappointed with the service when we dined there on a Saturday night. The only things that were served to us as we sat down were wine glasses. We had to serve our own menus after about 30 mins with no service. We then had to catch the waitress as she ran out to answer the phone so we could place our order. We only ordered mains. Our meals took over an hour to come out, and each meal was served 10mins apart. We received our final main meals 2.5 hours after we arrived. Three of our 8 meals were cold when served. Two weren’t served with rice, and we were told that the rice would take another 30 mins. Instead they offered noodles. We had to ask another two times over the next 30mins as to where the noodles were. When the noodles came out they were cold and undercooked. On top of all this. We had to ask for toilet paper and soap in the toilets as they were completely out. Absolutely horrible experience. Would not go back. Would not recommend.
I had previously been here for lunch (where they had a special on) and been impressed with the quality of the food and how tasty it was – I ordered the Chicken Pad Thai.Tonight I went there for a take away and again ordered the Pad Thai.I was disappointed. The food was extremely bland with little chicken, the noodles were sticky and greasy and clumped together – and the tastiest thing was the wedge of lemon placed in with it. For $19 the serving was small and, compared to other Thai restaurants I have been to, this was an expensive takeaway.I wouldn’t recommend the restaurant and won’t be returning.
The Thai food served at Kum Pun was fresh well cooked and tasty. I have enjoyed both restaurant and takeaway services I would agree that the portions are on the small side but the food was great.
