Had the portion sizes been better I would have rated Sapporos at 4.0. Food tasted great service was great, but at $22 for 3 scollop entree, and small portions with other dishes its a stretch to see value no matter how good it tastes.
October 11th 2015. Evening meal. My partners steak was tough ( he asked for medium rare ) and the fish of the day was average. The restaurant and the wait staff are very good, shame about the meals.
Booked a table Thursday night. Waited 30 min for entree then another 30 or more mins for mains. Presentation was nice and food was good but wasn’t that impressed on the wait. The restaurant was under half full. Won’t be back but can tick it off the list.
We have been here twice for dinner and it was quite nice both times. Entrees and mains were surprisingly nice given that it is a hotel restaurant. We were happy about that but the desserts were a bit of a disappointment, both times.
Me and my partner got a voucher from grabone and had a lovely 3 course dinner there. The entrées were good and fresh. The bacon and the scallops are perfectly matched. And the salmon tartare is fresh. The main the aged prime beef is disappointing. And I don’t know if it’s aged properly since it tasted slightly sour.The dessert mango mousse looks simple but tasty.
Went last night as couldn’t get in on Thursday night booked out. There was a private function on ( looked like the last meal for a bunch of oldies in God’s waiting room lol) so the restaurant was operating out of the conference room.The staff were great. Attentive and friendly. Our meals didn’t come out at the same time so we were offered a free drink. Thank you. The meals were nice and apportioned more toward a fine dining experience. We had the scallops and the salmon for starters. Very nice. Mains were the pork belly and the duck. Pork a little over done but the accompaniments were lovely. The duck not quite as I expected it, and the cale was as new experience. I’ve never had it like that before but very tasty! Desert was the berry cheesecake. And the brule. Both nice deserts. I would’ve like to been in the restaurant itself ad it looked like a really nice environment. But all the same it was pleasant enough. We enjoyed ourselves and had a laugh. It seemed not just us but everyone dining that night had a grab one voucher lol.
Just had lunch at The Elms and there was quite a group of us.They would not let us order from the A la Carte lunch menu but restricted our group to two choices ! Blue cod or steak. All but one had the cod and it was delicious , but speaking personally and not for the group, I thought their attitude was appalling and there were a lot of grumbles and disappointment.I could not recommend this restaurant not for food but for their management’s attitude.
