Madam Kwong’s is an over-rated restaurant. Yum-cha dishes are standard, nothing special and over-priced. The interior design is fancy and the atmosphere is always busy, as a result, service is bad. We had to ask for water 3 times before receiving it. Recommend going at least once, but will not return regularly.
This place is quite terrible. Bad service and fatty flavourless food. We went here for my mums birthday and ordered one of the set menus. The soup was thin, oily and tasted odd, the mains were generic and lacking in sauce. I wouldn’t go back!
Last night 16/4/19 we went for my fathers birthday dinner – there were 17 plus a baby. Two round tables were put together and the staff had no problem in us arranging them and helping to do so. The food was so good we can’t wait to go again. I just wanted to say on behalf of our entire family thank you so very much. We will be back! Kindest regards Deb Thompson-Bee
Madam Kwong’s has nice décor but quality of the food and service is not good. Staff aren’t that friendly and prices are a bit high for what you get. And the sizes are smaller than other Chinese Restaurants. There are better Chinese Restaurants around.
We made it to Madam Kwong’s as a total random plan, after an evening with friends. Firstly the ambience was good, (being welcomed with a tank of lobsters was a bit unusual too) with large screen TVs, high ceiling and wide spread seating on two floors. They definitely have huge menus (literally huge) with a lot of photos of dishes and quite elaborate line up of offerings on the menu. I was told that the duck was their signature dish, but did not have an opportunity to try it. However we made quite a large order for the 3 of us, not being aware of the portions and having forgotten the basics of Chinese cuisine (I know.. It’s Chinese, so it should be large). So our order was Hot and sour chicken soup, sweet corn chicken soup, Panfried Vegetarian Noodles, Deep fried Lamb with sesame seeds, Chicken Fried Rice, Chicken drumstick, Kungpao Chicken and Jasmine tea. Yes, we started off with the tea and it was good with everything just about right. Then, we literally had the whole lot of the remaining order served at once. The hot and sour chicken soup was pretty damn good, but the sweet corn was too sweet and did not make the mark. The signature dish of the day was the deep fried lamb which was just heavenly, I had not had lamb in that texture and taste, indeed a whole new experience. The next best was the chicken drumstick with right amount of seasoning on the chicken itself, but the sweet sauce on them did not go well. Then every other dish was of a really low standard, I had high hopes for the restaurant but was let down with the pan fried noodle being too oily and the Kungpao being bland. But there was this sauce they had, made from garlic and Spices thats on every table. That was simply awesome, quite an unexpected entrance and took our taste buds Yo a whole new world. I believe that the pricing of the food does not make up for the taste but the ambience and the brand. Will come back for the duck.
I thought the menu was quite good heaps of selectionGreat atmosphere service is quickJust the price is too expensive Heaps of parking Massive tables lots of room
OI came here beach they did Shanghai dumplings however they didn’t have much coup in them was very disappointing spring rolls didnt have much pork mainly pastry and veggies. I had Indian people vacuuming up around me very unpleasant time here. I came here a second time for dinner and it was very bad a friend of mine brought me who has been there a lot he was very disappointed and embarrassed. I had placed a order with a Indian waiter and he was trying to give me the wrong dish so I sad do you mind if I have a Chinese waiter please, he just walked off and sent a waiter over so I order the dish they he didn’t. Understand. 20 mins later our sling rolls came out and the last dish I ordered with the Asian waiter. I then called the staff member over and said we are still waiting on the other food we ordered with the first waiter! Well he didn’t put it through! Worst service of my life. Save your money The only photo I do have is this not happy
