Have been to chanakya every week lately and found the food to be of a high standard, fresh and very tasty. The service has always been top notch, nice family run restaurant with a clean environment.All the dishes that i have ordered so far have been excellent. The chat, idli and dosa are fantastic. Very uplifting food.
A quaint little place hidden inside a complex. But hands down one of the best meals we have had outside India. We ordered Papdi Chaat, Mysore Masala Dosa, Idli and Veg Biryani. Every item was awesome and finger lickin good! Esp the mysore masala, coconut chutney and sambhar was delicious beyond words. A hidden gem in Christchurch which is a must try. Affordable and quality food means that place is super busy at dinner time. Might require bit of waiting to be seated as only few tables available. But worth every cent! Will definitely recommend and visit again next time.
The food is great. For an Indian who loves eating authentic Indian food it is wonderful. Just like home!!!! Highly recommend it. The dosa is so crisp and always great. The food quantity is substantial and at a great price. Waiting a while means the food is being prepared fresh

Small and tidy place, making me recollect eateries of the same ambience in India. Best idly we have tasted as yet in Christchurch. Biryani – unique and tasty, a bit less in quantity compared to other restaurants. Chaat was good. On the whole, food is very good.
Excellent food that’s full of flavour and the owners are super friendly. Reasonably priced aswell. Will definitely come back again and definitely recommend to others
Basic chat items and idli dosai are really good.Especially the samosa chat and idling really really worth the money spent.Biriyani was decent compared to other Indian restaurants. Especially the service was really good as its a family run restaurant.
