Went here to see if they were OK after new owners took over. This shop had been the best fish and chips in town!,well i liked them. Received fish that had yellow semi-liquid fat/oil residue stuck to the batter on the outside in some places,they hadn’t let the fish or the chips drain properly,very off putting. It went went in the bin.
We’ve been a regular to this Fish & Chip shop for about 3 years now. And unfortunately Henry the owner and his wife and son have recently sold this business in July 2017 to new owners. We have given these new owners a chance a few times, but unfortunately they don’t produce the same quality of food and service as the original owners which is a shame.

We used this app to find the best fish and chips in Brighton and it was spot on. Awesome feed! Loooved the kumura fritters and mushroom bites especially. Friendly service too, thanks Henry!
Couldn’t fault this place and I can be picky!Perfect chips – fresh, just the right amount of crunch, not soggy.Fish – Large serve, nice light batter.Burger – I love that you can get fresh chicken pieces in a burger rather than a processed pattie. Burger also had beetroot & fried onion (plus the regular lettuce and sauce) which is more than what most fish and chip shops put in their burgers.
Best fish and chips in new brighton! Love their chips and its always fresh! Dont get me started with the donuts! Delicious! Couldnt fault this place! Close to the beach for a walk and a much on a good sunny day 🙂
Best fish and chips I have had in Chch since moving here in 2010! Fish is always fresh! Chips are always perfect! They haven’t one messed up my order an we have been coming here for 2 years now! Highly recommend to all!! Awesome people aswell sooo friendly!! And a bonus is they can understand u when u phone order????
