Really great fish from this place, we love it. Usually go for the crumbed Gurnard – AMAZING! Every time. I won’t go anywhere else in the area for fish n chips.
This is our regular fush & chups shop. The chips are usually crisp on the outside whilst remaining fluffy on the inside. I’m not a huge fan of their fish and tend to order a hotdog.
The same family has been running this joint for a long while. It’s popular with the locals and gets busy at peak feeding times! The shop has got a bit tired – the chalk menu board is almost an antique. They won some Fair Go award (from my mediocre memory) eons ago for the generous portion of chips. This remains the case. The chips are shop cut but only average quality. They do a good range of fresh battered/crumbed fish but are dearer than others in the area. Their burgers are forgettable. Considering the endless road works et al these guys have navigated post ‘quakes (and still today the intersection is dug up) hats off to their perseverance.
