Physically it’s quite a big shop. It had been my favourite secondhand store back in the day before the Trade me epidemic killed them off. There are a couple of tables with chairs but everything is served in brown paper bags, so the expectation is clearly on takeaways. The speciality bread racks were empty and over half the cabinet items were not stocked either, even though my visit was at lunch time. The store is not well signposted from the road as a bakery and could be easily missed. The decor is minimal. You’d think with a coffee machine and a bit of background music for ambience that this could really kick off. As it stands, the pie and slice I tried were okay. The pie was a bit light on meat but was good and hearty.
