We ordered from here for the first time in a number of years. We don’t often order Chinese as it can be ‘gluggy’ compared to Thai food. We were very pleasantly surprised with large portions and good quality (cheap) food. We will definitely be ordering more takeaway Chinese from New Wok.
Gave this place another try after awful food, just in case it was just a bad night, but it was dreadful for the second time. Asked for a vegetarian fried rice and was told seasonal vegetables, but all it had in it was peas carrot and corn, which looked like it was from a frozen vegetable packet. This was when broccoli was in season so no excuse for using frozen vegetables and considering the frozen vegetables range, it was budget frozen veg at that! The rice was oily and repulsive. Also got a bami goreng which was also gross. Must stress that it was also disgusting the first time we ordered from here which is why I am making the effort to rate it. Will never ever return.

The food all came in large portions with bright coloured fresh vegetables, The sweet and sour chicken was fantastic lots of tender chicken and not too much batter. The sauce was very nice. Black bean steak was also very good fresh crunchy vegetables a good amount of tender steak in a tasty sauce. The Chicken noodles and combination rice were good too. Everything was very fresh tasting. My partner went to pick up, the food arrived in the 20mins advised, he said the place was clean, a bit cold during the wait. Prices are pretty normal for Chinese takeaway $11-13. All in all a good experience. We will order from here again.
Is the best Chinese in chch. Most delicious food ever. Really fast. Very cheap if on a budget and great sized meals. Family rated been going here for years
