Tasty and affordable korean food. We ordered 2 soup : sundubu jigae and the one in the picture, 2 bbq : marinated ribs and rib eye. Both soup are really nice and we love the marinated ribs. In addition, side dishes also really nice. Good service and fast. Overall good dining experience. Unfortunately we didnt order the chicken, it looks nice.
Eden Alley is a great Korean restaurant. Dishes are very authentic and delicious. Ordered No. 7,8, 27, and 17. Spicy rice cake dish was alright, not much rice cake with more glass noodles. Recommend Dish 8, the Fried Chicken. Would not recommend number 17, basically just rice and vegetables with very small amounts of beef. Overall, the experience was good, service was fast and came with a few side dishes.
Staff very attentive, portion is generous and price is affordable. The korean seafood pancake is a must, lots of flavor and generous on ingredients. Takoyaki is kinda bit on a smaller side and a bit toasted for my liking – im use to the soft kind of takoyaki but for the 5nzd price on it its worth a try. The Perilla noodle soup is just ok but portion is generous. Overall its a worthy resto to satisfy your korean food cravings.
I was told this was the best Korean restaurant in town so gave it a go for lunch, that was a mistake. I was very interested in the fried chicken after viewing the photos on zomato.Ordered the spicy soft tofu/beef stew with sides ($15) and the fried chicken with sweet and spicy sauce ($16). The stew had a super small amount of fatty beef, half of which ended up on the side of the plate, had a bland taste and was not spicy at all. As for the chicken, 8 small oily chicken nibbles with the coating coming off, mostly bone, skin and fat -YUK! Looked nothing like the photos on this site at all.
This is always my first option for Korean food. Reasonably priced and food is really good. Having it near (just 4 mins) to my home is a plus!
Since arriving to Christchurch no restaurant has made up for that Korean pallet of mine that I developed in Auckland. Today eden alley just wow’d me with their LA Galbi. It had the perfect combination of Smokey and slurpy. The fried chicken was just the icing on top. I think this is going to be my go to place for Korean food hence.
It is good for BBQ but not good for others. We ordered some pork rib soup and BBQ. I was not sure what kind of soup is. No pork at all and only some bone is there but no meat at all. But BBQ and side dish was good.
