Tidy little bakery run by some lovely Cambodians – the big Angkor Wat painting references this. However, the food is old school NZ bakery. It harks back to the days before overpriced paninis, wraps et al. The focus is on slices and pastries. The pies are a joy – generous filling and a flaky pastry. The warmer is packed with choices. My picks are the pepper steak or steak ‘n’ kidney. They’re always the right kinda pie hot too – more than just warm but not a package of thermo nuclear ooze either. The slices are large and fresh. My fav is the custard square – that sticky bundle of bacteria that built up the immunity levels of previous generations. The sandwich packs are all whitebread – enough said. Recommended!
