  Reading the comments I wonder if there is another O’sheas in Shirley, Christchurch, This was a regular wednesday treat for myself and ex partner after dropping kids to school and pre school,it quickly became the place where i would bring friends and associates to for lunch meetings and everytime, and i mean everytime, it has been a wonderful experience, From the Friendly locals downing schooners of Fresh tap beer, to the very welcoming owner who we saw now and then, O’sheas is very much what i would imagine a pub in Dublin would be like, Inviting. During this time the chef had changed 3 times, and at no time was the food substandard, made with pride in their work, proud to put out dishes that were represntative to their enjoyment of the their craft.The Dubliner Porterhouse, The seafood chowder, the everything, It is almost robbery that something so good can be so cheap!! With Osheas on average 2 people you are going to spend 40 – 60 dollars, the food? wonderful, what you aren’t being charged for is the excellent staff, the location and the atmosphere.Oshea’s has an ambience akin to being on a comfy lounge chair in front of a warm fire while the dublin rain dances a jig on the rooftop, I do recommend.UPDATE : Went Wednesday and it is still enjoyable meal and friendly atmosphere.   The roast beef 5 oif us had on Sunday 29th was the worst we had ever had anywhere. It was tasteless and as tough as shoe leather.Staff OK but terrible quality meat. Surely this place can offer much better quality meat for the $18!

  I have to laugh at some of these comments. To the owner – you really need to reassess your staff as the food is nice but if that was my bar I would not be happy with the people in charge. we also found the manager rude and obnoxious which is a shame as I am local but will not be returning, happy to go somewhere else.

  Was very disappointed, came all the way from Rotorua for a weekend, had a deal voucher we purchased for this restaurant that was valid from Sunday to Thursday. Rang Sun morn to book and everything was fine for Sun night diner until I said I had a deal voucher then was told no more voucher bookings were available so my cash was fine just not a voucher I had purchased in good faith. I told these people we had come from Rotorua and were going home next day and was pretty much told TOUGH, needless to say we will not be recommending this establishment to friends and has also made us very wary of using deal vouchers.

  Dined here a few months ago (just remembered to place feedback). I had the ribs, was happily eating my dinner when I found a piece of plastic in my food. I told the waitstaff and she took my plate away to the kitchen. She came back a few minutes later and said dont worry the chef said its only a bit of plastic from the ribs packaging!!! No sorry, would you like a drink or refund. Another waitress came by 5 minutes later and asked how our meals were we told her about the plastic. She went away and came back a few mintues later and was very apologetic. She asked us to fill in entertainment review questionaire and said to write down about the plastic and the waitress reply to my complaint and that she would pass it on to management and get them to ring us the next day. Its been a few months and never heard anything. Disgusting, would not ever return here, staff were grumpy, not welcoming and it seemed like they didnt get along. The friendly waitress seemed like she wanted to get the chef and other rude waitress fired. Stay away from this one
