We had a three course meal from the new winter menu. The food was beautifully presented with a wide range of options. The service was outstanding, we were made to feel important and welcome. The wait staff engaged in banter, which made us feel very comfortable. It felt like a homely environment, with hearty meals that were portioned that welcomed sharing. This is a top quality restaurant, with higher priced items that we believe were reasonable considering the fresh seasonal ingredients and the overall experience. They had sufficient vegetarian options also. The stand out star of the meal was the oxtail ravioli, a must try! It was like a roast cooked over a fire, a strong flavour that wasn’t overwhelming. The vegetarian main was presented beautifully, with an almost fusion taste of Indian and Mediterranean cuisine, portraying the multicultural nature of Christchurch. For the dessert, a must try is the crepe a la gas, which was refreshing and had flare from the chef coming to the table and flambeing the crepes. All in all, it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. All the food seemed considered, in texture and flavour balances. We would happily go back again, and in fact are in a couple of weeks!
