Saturday morning, coffee and a muffin. It was just before midday and the place was empty. The decor is a funky mix of styles spread over several rooms and a large courtyard. The coffee (Lyttelton Coffee Co) was average. I’d specified a strong double – it was not. The muffin, a standard chocolate chip, suffered from the mixture being overworked. Maybe the Japanese meals are more their go? A shame because they have the basis here for an excellent cafe too.
Can’t go wrong with this place.
I went to Dose for dinner for the first time and am ashamed I waited so long after being told by so many people to go there. It was amazing! Not only is the food such a good price but is cooked to perfection. The staff were friendly and attentive. Would recommend everything on the menu! We paid $50 for the 2 of us with a drink and we walked out stuffed.
I started an account especially so I could review this restaurant. I love Dose! The Japanese dinners are so delish and fresh, the food is always spot on and the atmosphere is really comfortable. I’m always begging my boyfriend to go there for dinner because I know I can get something delicious and healthy for a reasonable price. Service is good, always a smile, sometimes wish the food would come out a bit closer together as you get a lot of dishes to share and I’m usually ravenous. That’s dinner, I also go there for lunch and coffees sometimes as I work nearby, I’ve even been for breakfast. Everyone at work raves about their toasted sandwiches and coffee, I don’t drink coffee but they have a great selection of tea, and beautiful gluten free and vegan salads too if that’s what you fancy.
This is one of the few Cafe’s close to CBD left that we can take our clients for lunch at and know we are guaranteed Fantastic Food and ambience. Extremely friendly staff always willing to go that extra mile and willing to make to order if enough notice is given. I have been going there since it has opened and the menu is always changing, so many nice treats to choose from 🙂
