worst dining experience i’ve ever had. The food and drinks were a joke ($16 for 5 pieces of chicken, $11 for a 330ml bottle of beer.) and the atmosphere was terrible. I couldn’t even hear my brother who was opposite to me speaking at a loud level over the music. I cannot understand how this place has 4 stars and still gets people in the doors.
The staff are helpful and friendly, the food is delicious, but very expensive for what it is, and the size of the portions served. The premises are well decorated albeit quite dusty. It’s an experience, but to be honest, I wouldn’t go back a second time just because for the portions, the food is so expensive. We ordered the fried chicken which cost $16, and it was a bowl of perhaps 6 pieces of chicken, each a mouthful in size. The quesadilla was also $16 with thin fillings and a side of sauce. Another person ordered beef cheek and cauliflower, and it was a few slivers of beef with a small handful of cauliflower florets with sauce, and it cost $18. I feel that for the price, one could get much better value elsewhere.
Cracker of a evening at Mexico, great Sangria! We took the waitresses advice and boy were we rewarded with the chips, the pork belly tacos and the chimichangas! Great dinner, friendly staff, great food and drink!
Loved the food .. funky and colourful ambience .. I tried Mexican fried chicken( which was the best ) chicken quesadillas, esquites. And took sangria for drinks which was really delightful. Would definitely recommend everyone to visit this place.
Taco Tuesday is a sure must!
Ambience: 8/10Staff: 6/10Food: 6/10Staff was friendly and not a very long wait time for food. We were not informed that the corn chips and guacamole were not complimentary. Just suggested it and brought it over – did not inform us of any price and item was not on the menu. $12 later we weren’t really impressed..
Please stop bastardising Mexican food! This is not “Mexican” and it is disingenuous to market yourself in this manner. I have now sat down in two of your New Zealand eateries and after growing up in South Texas and living in Southern California for a number of years, as well as working in a number of Mexican restaurants, upon reading your menu, disappointingly realising that this is not Mexican food. Why don’t you just have authentic Mexican food?!?
