A recommendation from my cousin, who is a Christchurch local, brought us to exploring New Regent Street and trying out Rollickin Gelato. I was pretty excited to try it out, especially after seeing the long queue waiting to get their hands on some tasty iced treats. Even though there was a crowd, and it was a clear tourist hot spot, I loved the community feel upon entering the little shop with the hand drawn A4 signs depicting the really funky menu, and the signage regarding the fundraising for various aspects of the community. The gelato flavours are so fun! We found a brownie take, one with anzac cookie, something with lemon and the Kiwi classic – the Hokey Pokey! Staff is here lovely, and they are super helpful with the decision making too. If in town, I highly recommend checking out the delicious treats at Rollickin! theminiaturelife.com

Found this store when I was strolling around the city. Decided to give it a try and chose best in show flavour which was the limited edition flavour (the staff informed me). I am not sure if this store sell a gelato or an ice cream (zomato mentioned it as an ice cream store)? The texture of the ice cream or gelato or whatever it is was closer to an ice cream. It wasnt as smooth and creamy as the usual gelato I had in Brisbane. The positive point was it wasnt too sweet. Staff wasnt that friendly.
