Usually hotel food is hit and miss but Novotel Christchurch did not disappoint. Well cooked breakfasts with splendid choices of nuts, smoothies and other dishes available. Great work from the staff too!
We were visitors to Chch and took our parents to this restaurant – well I wish we hadn’t !The service was sorely lacking – we had to go searching twice for wait staff and the restaurant was by no means busyThe means we’re average at bestWe had two steak orders and both were so tough they were inedible and sent back – we didn’t ask for replacementsThey were meant to be served on asparagus but came out on green beans. When we questioned were told asparagus out of season and that’s the chefs issue (maybe change the menu then!)I would definitely not be recommending to anyone
stayed in the Novotel while on business in Christchurch. had dinner in The Square. went for the salmon entree and the beef ribs for main, both were unremarkable. the ribs came with a salad which was very lacking, the ribs were very tasty and fall apart tender. all in all, the food wasn’t bad but not worth near what was being charged. doubt i will return.
Great experience here especially given it is so new.Staff were welcoming, knowledgeable and professional. The food was great – monkfish carpaccio with avocado and mussels, and an exceptionally well presented venison pie were our pick of entrees, a spicy prawn pasta was a hit main courses and the desserts were too hard to choose from! We will be back.
