We decided to try the Thai Kitchen for takeaways again after having a not-so-great experience a year or two ago. this place seems to have lots of good reviews and friends have raved about it. We ordered spring rolls, a vegetarian green curry and a tofu cashew stir fry. The servings were generous. We found the spring rolls to be a bit tasteless. The vegetarian curry was ok, but like when we last bought food there, had a number of vegetable items in it that were inedible (whole woody spring onions bulb and leaves). The vegetable were randomly cut in varying sizes with some huge chunks of pumpkin. The sauce was very sweet. The stir fry ws also very sweet, had some strange vegetables in it (woody cabbage and soggy capsicum and zucchini) and tasted very fishy. We have decided to call it quits and wont be returning.

Im not saying they are all fake, but it is not normal to have so many 5* reviews/ratings from one time users. The dubious ones come to over half of their reviews in fact. Seems to be easy for restaurant owners/owners associates to do this on Zomato. Have had takeaways from here on three occasions over the past two years and there will not be a fourth. From what i have experienced the food is none to good, on too many occasions. Three substandard meals in a row. There are much better Thai restaurants around now.
we were not sure what to expect when we got there but when the food arrived – it was superb and the serves very generous . Certainly beats a lot more fancy Thai restaurants in taste.
Truly the best Thai in Christchurch! Over the xmas break I struggled to find a Tom Kar Gai that was even half as good as Thai Kitchen’s! Also their Larb is fantastic.
This is my local Thai joint an I think its awesome!!! Very authentic flavours every dish is a delight favourite being the beef laarb and the red curry 🙂
The menu card photos present here are a bit outdated. There has been an approximate increase of 2$ for each item in the menu card as of now.The soup was excellent and served 4 people. The quantity of the items match the prices and it’s worth a visit.
