Going Dutch! So I went to Van Dam’s with my friend (a couple of days before christmas) and this was our first time going to this cafe. We both been pass this cafe so many times that we always wanted to go there. But finally it happened at last as we both have always wanted to go to Van Dam’s! I ordered quite a lot there that day! I ordered a Dutch Hot Chocolate that was delicious! I ordered those Dutch vegetarian sausage things called krokets with bread and that was delicious as well! I wasn’t happy with the paper cone that the wedges were on as I was expecting it to be in a bowl. One of the unique lattes that I have tried there was the aniseed latte, it was different but nice. I also enjoyed being surrounded by quite a lot of the Dutch cultural stuff. I was sitting next to the wooden shoes and man I really wanted to try on a pair, but I thought no in case I get told off. Maybe next time I’m there I’ll sneak and try them on. =( The cafe also has a shop if you want to buy Dutch food and products.
Unfortunately they had run out of the veggie krokets I wanted to try, but I still liked my spinach and feta pie. Very much enjoyed the coffee. Will have to come back because the atmosphere was lovely, hopefully I’ll have better luck with the krokets next time.
Always lovely friendly service. The coffee is beautiful every time, and they make the best hot chocolate in town. There’s a real sense of community whenever you step into Vandam’s; one immediately feels at home.
