Odd sort of a vibe. A cafe in Woolston full with Nanas from Merivale. Staff look very serious. Food and coffee was good. Cheese, ham and mustard seed scone was lovely. Raised my eyebrow at being charged 50c extra for it to be heated and adorned with a butter pat.
A friend said this place does the best breakfast in Christchurch and she was absolutely right.Ordered and food was on the table within 10 minutes, even though there were quite a few people around.Great food, excellent service, so will definitely be back next time I am in Chch!
Delightful to find an oasis in the city for replenishing the camels. Food that was even more delicious than it looked. Deeply satisfying and substantially filling. Not as quiet as the desert but a welcome place to rest on the journey. Yum
Quite a charming wee cafe actually, but noisy as hell – noisier than a food court, which makes it hard to relax and have a chat. Every sharp clink of a glass or drop of cutlery can be heard in great detail as each sound seems to bounce off all the hard surfaces with ease. Very distracting! The food was pleasant but not especially good value for money. A good place to go for a coffee or other beverage, but not a particularly great selection of food.
Went to Mitchelli’s for a Sunday lunch. Was greeted by a lovely lady who looked happy to be at work. The place was buzzing, the food was served quickly and was totally delicious. So much flavour and a huge portion of pasta for $14. I sat upstairs with my friend and looked out over the tannery location and shops. I had a blast, will definitely return and reccomend to all

Having recently returned from Italy, I was stoked to see how closely Mitchellis imitated the atmosphere and flavors of Italia. From the food (authentic) to the atmosphere (comfortable and youthful), Mitchellis is definitely one of the best Italian restaurants in Christchurch in my books.
