Really enjoyed our brief lunch visit. Service was excellent. Shared three entree dishes. Chicken liver pate excellent. Beef broth was memorable. Packed with flavour and tiny tiny mushrooms!
We shared three starters of very fine food for lunch. The beef broth was an absolute standout. Huge depth of flavor. The view across the lake and valley also makes it worth adding to your list of must see wineries while in Central.
If in Central Otago – don’t miss the chance to eat at Carrick Winery if not in Central Otago – get there!!Based in Australia we were lucky enough to visit Carrick twice this year, the first time at Easter, the wine of course is world class which took us to the winery in the first place however it was a wonderful surprise to see the passion for their excellent wine is extended to the restaurant that is just spectacular. With views that showcase the area you can choose a cosy indoor setting or when the sun is out seating on the rolling lawn surrounded by vines looking over the river to snow capped mountains is like a 100% NZ advertisement. The innovative menu provided that perfect balance of locally sourced food that is cooked to perfection, presented with flare, incredibly tasty, it was such a great experience we took 30 of our work colleagues back 2 weeks ago when in Queenstown for a conference and the experienced was repeated without a hitch to our large group, the service was just brilliant. For your passion and commitment to both food and wine – Carrick we thank you. We will all be back!
My husband and I dropped in for a late lunch yesterday. Being low season we were the only people there but the food was gorgeous, the service impeccable and the wines divine. We’ll definitely be back if we have the opportunity.
A windy day forced us to dine indoors, this didn’t stop us from enjoying the food and the Carrick Pinot Noir. My dish of Salmon was just divine, with a Sav blanc. I loved the artwork on the walls. Our waitress was lovely. I’ll be back.
