his was our second time here, the first being 2 years ago. The kids meals of mac and cheese was very think and gluggy, seemed to have too much flour and not enough cheese. The fish and chips my wife had was great. Batter was light and crispy and the fish was fresh and flaky. Very nice. We also had calamari and crispy fish.
Located on the beach front, this Art Deco restaurant has a cosy ambiance and great service. It was bustling and jostling when I arrived on a Tuesday night (so consider booking) but the friendly waitress found a space for me. Despite being busy she was really attentive. I had the most unusual and delicious risotto—easiest one of the best I’ve had in New Zealand.
Would love to write a review but one needs to actually experience the food and drink to be in a position to do soWalked in Saturday with my wife looking for a bite to eat. Several staff at bar milling around , a young guy was serving another customer and was having issues with the till so to be fair to him he was preoccupied .We waited as everyone else behind the bar milled about ignoring us . eventually, another couple walked in and straight away a staff member greeted them and started to serve them totally ignoring us Decided to go elsewhere .if this is how you treat customers certainly won’t be back
Had lunch here. Way overpriced for what we got. The coconut chicken salad was bland, the prawn toast was prawnless. Good fish and chips and good coffee.
Have been here a couple of times and it’s a great bar for wine and spirits, I can’t remember if the do cocktails. Probably a higher end bar compared to most other bars. Haven’t eaten here, but service was good and relatively quick. Decent bar for Napier
Today I had, here, the BEST fish n chips of my life. The fish was fresh tasty and juicy, the batter crusty but not oily. Wow! Yum! The chips totally balanced, the salad just perfect and with a balanced seasoning. Service was excellent! Waiter was friendly and paid attention to details. Food was delivered really quick and portions were generous. The place clean, nicely decorated, elegant yet casual. I’m very happy here, I would dine here every week if I could.
A great dinner. The steak was cooked perfectly and the beef sliders were delicious. A definite place to dine at. Service was prompt and friendly.
