Berlins is in the middle of nowhere and I went in with fairly low expectations but got a very good coffee and a great egg and bacon burger. It is worth checking out the interesting collection of historical newspaper stories and photos on the walls.
We stopped for coffee, and it was okay. But I’m real promoting the art. The paintings incorporated all kinds of west coast metaphor, and the place is in the middle of nowhere. Great spot to look over the Buller River too.
The Berlins Cafe & Bar is beside the Buller Gorge – very impressive after heavy rain. We had a great coffee (we are fussy) & a lovely carrot cake. Great place for photos. Would certainly recommend.

This was a great café to stop at on our way to Westport. It has great coffee, friendly service, clean bathrooms and an amazing view.
Stopped on the way to the West Coast. Good service, friendly staff and good coffee! Had takeaways. The food was good.
