Welcome to The Curly Tree Whitebait Company, serving you since 2009. Nestled on the banks of the Waita River, you are welcome to wander the riverbanks and if it's whitebait season perhaps catch a glimpse of these tiny fish making their annual run. Surrounded by tranquil rainforest and the sound of the Tasman Sea drifting over from the nearby beach. Follow the 'Whitebait Patties' signs 1km from the Waita River bridge, turn towards the sea and drive past historic whitebait baches towards the big orange building to try your taste of this famous kiwi delicacy. Curly Tree's whitebait patties are well-known for being full of whitebait. Made with love and served traditionally on white bread with lemon, salt n pepper, and perhaps a dash of mint sauce. Rach and Glenn will be waiting with a big West Coast welcome, and while your whitebait pattie is cooking feel free to swap a few fishing yarns of your own. Open from 10am to 5pm daily.
