We had an interesting dining experience at Burtons Restaurant recently. While in town for the weekend, we saw a GrabOne deal for two mains for $40. The menu was restricted to five options but they looked good online. On arrival, we were seated quickly, given a pitcher of water and presented with specially printed GrabOne menus – and nothing else. We weren’t asked if we wanted drinks and our idea of sharing some entrees (which we’d pay extra for) just didn’t work out. The waitress was pleasant but very busy as the only FOH staff member so it seemed awkward to ask for anything else. Onto the food. The fish of the moment was a whiting dish (likely frozen) so I opted for pork belly with potato rosti, diced apple and chilli. It was ok with a lovely sauce over the potatoes and patches of pork crackling. Overall, not a bad meal but probably not somewhere we’d return to in a hurry.
