All the dishes we ordered were delicious. I ordered the Lamb Rack and it was delicious, in particular the cheesy risotto it came with complimented the dish very well. Location is awesome. Great atmosphere. Lots to entertain the kids with an awesome view of Temata Peak.
Could not fault the food, I personally had the blueberry pancakes. The BEST I have every had. Super fluffy. No complaints from anybody else with me.
Having tried OTT several times in the hope that it will improve I have again been disappointed. The food is generally uneatable and the service shocking. My last couple of visits were extremely bad with me leaving unfed and having had to pay for food the we didn’t eat. Having just phoned to book a table for lunch (convinced by my family to try once more) I was told they were fully book, fair enough, I said thanks and had the phone slammed in my ear! No thanks, no can we book you in at some other time, nothing. I recommend that you stay away from this place!!! Its shocking!!
I have been to off the track and love it because the kids can play outside while you can have a beer or wine and either a snack or a meal and having three children its nice that they can play while you eat or chill out. The view is really nice and the service has always been great. The food has always been pretty good and my family loves the desserts.
Date of review third quarter of 2015Service: Staff helpful but orders mistaken, they quickly rectified it and no extra cost was incurred from the mistake.Venue: Good for large groups, with or without children. Play area outside and semi-private area for medium to large group.Menu: Large variety however overpriced especially on starter, kids menu and soft drinks.Food: in about 2012 good, now lower quality. I would compare it to breakers or some other main stream Fast restaurant dining. Also the balsamic and olive oil with the bread plate has the balsamic under the oil, Because the oil coats the bread first as oil floats on water based fluids the balsamic becomes unobtainable. Pros: Playground, large venueCons: Price and food qualitywould not recommend after last 3 visits however would feel safe eating their food, while no longer willing to pay for it.
Despite the fact that this place is between Havelock and Hastings and can get quite busy. It is worth a miss. The food is TERRIBLE. The fish tastes like it has been cooked 3 times! All of our meals (5) were not good! Big does not mean good!!! The service isn’t much better. The only good thing is the play ground for kids.
Went last night with family while visiting Hastings. Was outstanding. Service was exceptional, very attentive without being annoying. Food was also fabulous. I have the squid salad and it was delicious and everyone else loved their meals. The desserts were huge and delicious we had pavlova. Very impressed particularly with the young serving staff who must have been trained very well. I think the guide of over $100 per person is not correct. Meals were around $26 I think though mine was $23 so you could eat there for $60 for 2 people if you just wanted a main.
