Decided to try this place as close to the hotel. Service was amazing. We went with the fixed menu. I ordered the shrimp cocktail with a twist, the caesar salad and the lemon posset, DH got the pork dumplings, pork chop and apricot cheesecake and we got the beetroot and feta salad. The price was super reasonable for the quality of the produce and product. DH said the dumplings were amazing. My shrimps were perfectly cooked and the flavors were awesome. The caesar salad was unfortunately mediocre however the saving grace was the beetroot salad, which was amazing! Warm beetroot with a beautifully creamy feta, spinach with a lovely dressing.

Took one of the teams out here on Wednesday night. Great food and drinks. Very nice place that is not loud with all the customers talking.Steak was cook perfect and the pudding of snickers bar was the best

I dined at Vidal and had a fabulous 3 course lunch. The waiter was very familiar with the menu and the seasonal produce and was happy to explain. The food arrived in a timely manner and was set out tastefully. I had the salmon as a main and it was beautifully cooked. My dining companion ordered the rib eye which was cooked to the desired medium rare. Dining at Vidal was an absolute pleasure and I will definitely be back again!

Average food, had an impatient and abrupt waitress, disappointing as my first experience here about 4 years ago I raved about to the point of saying it was one if the best meals I’ve had. The menu was so much more creative then.

Had some friends in town so thought we’d take them around our usual traps over the weekend – vidal’s never disappoints – always great service and fabulous food – thanks again guys

Four of us went for dinner last night. Interesting ambiance being part of the winery and has been done well. Our waitress was superlative – totally knowledgeable about the menu, warm and attentive. The bread starter was lovely and crusty, the fish stew and king fish were also reported as very tasty. Two of us had lamb, one had Wagu beef and the other fish. All beautifully presented and tasted really great. No room for the temptingly described desserts. Would recommend as a great fine dining establishment.

We ate here on Saturday night while we were in Hawkes Bay for a long weekend. What a fabulous experience. Genuinely friendly service, really first rate food in an atmosphere that had the entire restaurant kicked back and relaxing – we just lingered on & on! Great cheeses and stickys too. Back next time for sure!
