Bella’s cafe had a nice Italian feel to it with a splash of modern art.My friend and I came for a quick bite and had hot drinks and fries with garlic dip. We were served with thinly sliced fries and before we knew,we had cleaned the plate clean! The staff were superb and accommodating. There a few tables outside the cafe and on a good day you will be enjoying more than just your food. Eventhough we were only there for a quick bite,other patrons were happily eating,chatting and generally had a good Sunday lunch.Would definitely come back.
Had the full breakfast. Very well presented and ingredients of highest quality. Hash brown was hand made in the American style of grated potato. Everything on plate was individually prepared and distinct. Could not fault.
We turned up quite late with no booking, but the staff were very accommodating. Meals were top notch and brought out quickly. We’ve eaten here quite a few times and have never been disappointed. Keep up the good work!
First time I have been here, I made a take away order last night and got my husband to pick it up as I was working late and when I got home to have my Fettuccine Pollo which I ordered from the on line menu I was really disappointed to find that the container they used was only half full and it was a small container, and the price advertised was $17 for a small or $20 for large, I ordered the large and my husband was charged $25. I ate it and then had to cook me something else. The food tasted OK but the experience was really disappointing. We live out of town so its not that easy to take it back.
A friend and I went for a late leisurely lunch. The service was great, food delicious, lovely wine.We didn’t feel neglected or conversely ‘hovered over’, and despite us staying on and enjoying a cup of coffee after official closing time (3pm for lunch), we didn’t feel rushed either.I’d definitely go again and would like to try the dinner menu too.
Before dining at Bella’s I had heard from many people how fantastic this place is or was and that it is possibly the best restaurant in Palmerston North. Don’t believe it. Overall I had a really bad experience courtesy of the owner, who I believe is called Alistar. A friend and I dined at Bella’s on my birthday during a weekday lunchtime in which the owner served us. When we sat down he told us about the daily specials menu, I couldn’t understand him as he was speaking in a very fast slurred manner which made me think he was possibly drunk. When he returned to the table to take our orders I politely asked what some of the specials were again so I could decide on what I wanted. He ran all his words together again and seemed like he was having trouble concentrating. I could not understand him and he snapped at me rudely when I asked what was in the soup, speaking to me as if I was stupid. He acted as if he did not want to be there and had no time to be serving us!If it wasn’t for the food which was decent and well presented, but not great or fantastic by any measure, I would have given Bella’s a one star rating. The owner was rude, unprofessional and possibly drunk.
Bad experience to just make a booking, they advised be right back but we were on hold for 12 minutes and forgotten, that’s a very long time and when we went in they recognised us and thought was funny, we didn’t think so. however front line staff were fab, great service. Our entree and meals were faultless, however the lemon meringue dessert was awful, being big fans of lemon meringue this was by far the worst, it was like concentrated lemon juice, couldn’t even get a second bite in so we just ate the meringue on top. Where we were seated was freezing cold, as people come and go the breeze came through the door, they need to get a better block than what they currently have up as its absolutely freezing, couldn’t wait to get home to warm up. Was also very noisy as well, Upon going to the counter we thought the man was quite rude, in ways of saying come on time to pay up. So overall experience couldve been better.
