We mostly agree with the previous comments. Our crumbed fish fillets were awful. At $6.50 each we were ripped off. We could not eat them. We hope there are better fish and chips shops we can use on our next trip through picton.
My whole family agreed this was the worst fish & chips we’d ever ordered. We ordered & received rude service, we looked past that & came back to collect our f&c’s & went on to enjoy a nice family day in the sun in Picton for Mother’s Day. Upon opening the unusually small wrapped package we found an especially tiny lot of soggy, unsalted chips, not enough to share around two adults & two small children. Also, three fish (at $4 each) we’re ordered. At most two bites from each piece of fish we’re eaten as the fish smelt (not fresh) fishy & tasted old. I’d be embarrassed to think that a tourist might get this as a 1st taste of the South Island. One star was for the seagulls who seemed to enjoy the majority of our meal.
