My partner and I went to Raupo tonight. We hadn’t bothered to book, but they were very welcoming and seated us straight away.The new look is fantastic, now a french country theme, and of course the staff are just superb, as always.They were rather busy so we ordered an entrée to keep us busy, however it didn’t take long until our mains were ready.My partner ordered a beef fillet and I ordered a pumpkin and onion tart, both were exceptional, full of flavour and cooked to perfection!We paid $89 for 2 drinks, a shared entrée, 2 mains and a shared dessert. Not bad for a nice night out!Prices are on the pricy side for what is on the plate, but the idea of most restaurants is to get an entrée, main and dessert. So if you’re not one to go with all three then yes perhaps you will be feeling a little peckish.If you’re going out for dinner, Raupo is an obvious choice, great food, atmosphere and staff!P.s – Try the crème brûlée for dessert! You won’t be sorry!

I have previously dined here for dinner and had a great time, although the meals were a little pricey, and also several times for brunch – each time was different, some good and some average.I had the couscous salad, which although it tasted amazing, was more like a green salad with couscous dressing. It just wasn’t quite as I expected it to be (predominately couscous, not leafy greens) and didn’t fill the gap.Friend had the open steak sandwich, which didn’t justify the price. The steak was a cheap, fatty off-cut and overcooked (medium & not medium rare). The location, building and staff are all very good, and I do enjoy going to Raupo. I would probably just stick to coffee and a muffin though, as I can get better food for less at other cafes.
Yet another great dining experience tonight. The food and service are consistently great. The pate is a must have. Tonight we had the beef fillet and the lamb rump, both requested cooked to medium rare and both were cooked perfectly. We found the staff to be very attentive and helpful. We will continue to return as we know that we can consistently expect a great dining experience.
My friends and I had a lovely lunch on Wednesday. Food was very tasty though a little over-priced. We then all went home for a rest having watched a very stressed, slightly short tempered maître-de run around the restaurant in ever decreasing circles. Please give this lady a rest or perhaps menopause tabs to settle her down. Otherwise a pleasant experience
Nice building and surroundings, think maybe having won an award the staff are a little big headed! the food was good, service nothing out of the ordinary. personally think the prices are a little big headed too. had just as good a meal with friendlier staff at Gramado’s @ 74 Main Street for less stress on the wallet.
Lovely atmosphere – one of the few places opened on a sunday night. The seafood pasta was delicious. My friends had the lamb and the steak and it was beautifully prepared.
